Michigan Tech Week is the organization’s largest conference focused on founders in Michigan.

Situation:

The team moved from a 2-person organizing team to a 6-person team, plus contractors and more.

Task:

My task is to work directly with the organization’s founder/CEO members to integrate them into all aspects of the conference.

Action:

I reviewed the past systems that were used in order to accomplish this task, and then realized we would not be able to replicate them with the nimble movement required due to approval and partner structures.

In light of this, I proposed moving away from a 1-to-many connection of the past where the person would deliver customized next-steps. And instead, I built a landing page on Lovable where founders could identify the breadth of opportunities available and take the next step in real-time that would link to the various backend operations our org and our partners were using.

This way, the staff wouldn’t have to try to memorize complicated processes for each component, but would have one call-to-action for members wherever they engaged with them: check the membership page.

Result:

This project is in process. But it will reduce complexity and administrative burden for members, staff, contractors, and myself, and will help founders own their own involvement.
